Patrizia Dionisio - Resume

Patrizia Dionisio

Qualifications: Degree with honors in Far-East Languages (specialization in Chinese) at Rome University “La Sapienza”, at Ismeo of Rome and at the University of Beijing.

Work experience: I worked in China from 1990 to 1995 for the OMBAO Food Co joint-venture. My main tasks were working with Chinese Managers in the position of Italian representative for the company. I ensured the best business procedures were put in place whilst looking for potential customers for the company’s import-export business with Italy and finalizing contracts on my own. In the same period I had the opportunity to deal with a high number of negotiations and commercial exchanges between Italian and Chinese businessmen, gaining a great deal of technical expertise in the management of local personnel.

Since 1996 I have been employed in the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs working with Chinese to Italian Translations and Interpretations. In addition to that I also take care of any issues related to Chinese immigration in Italy.

Since 1996 I have been assigned to highly sensitive interpretation tasks, both in China and in Italy, on occasions of political or business delegations visiting Italy, or in other negotiations tasks assigned by, for example, UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), CNR (National Research Center) of Rome, Ministero dell'Ambiente (Ministry for the Environment), Pirelli, Ice, Regione Lombardia (interpreter for Formigoni in his mission to China “Quattro Motori”), Fiera di Milano, Shanghai, Bejing and Canton, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Agenzia per la Cina (Agency for China) and for many Italian companies having business interests in different areas (Mediolanum, Mediaset - Beijing Olympic Games).

Since 2002, I have specialized in cross-cultural management. I held courses in negotiation skills and cross-cultural techniques for ICE (Italian Trade Commission), local government bodies (Regioni) and companies interested in approaching negotiations with China in the most politically-correct way.

I live in Milan and I often travel between China and Italy
